  Footballers get too much money
Updated 12 September 2002, 09.22
The England football team
Javeriah argues that doctors, nurses and teachers deserve to be paid more.

"It angers me when I hear about footballers getting paid thousands of pounds a week when many people don't get paid that amount in one year.

Doctors and teachers aren't getting paid much and that is resulting to a shortage of them.

Companies could help

I know that footballers are not paid by the government and that doctors are, but big companies with lots of money should do more to help people like doctors, nurses and teachers who are our future.

David Beckham
David Beckham is the highest paid footballer in the world
They could sponsor them and it wouldn't take much to make that little bit of an effort and change people's lives.

They wouldn't lose a drastic amount of money.

Other people

I don't have anything against expensive footballers but I do think they are way overpaid.

Even if they deserve it there are other people who also deserve it just as much as they do.

If any of your loved ones' lives or your life was in danger would you rather have a good doctor so you could make a recovery or watch football?"
