  My Diary: Model
Updated 28 August 2002, 08.11
Teen model Jamie
Hello everyone! My name's Jamie, I'm 16 and I'm a model.

I work for Premier Models in London, who have people like Claudia Schiffer and Jenny from Model Behaviour on their books.

But I'm still doing my A-levels, although I've got to do them at night school so I can carry on doing modelling in the day.

This is the second entry in my diary.

1 August

Jamie's been chosen for a worldwide modelling contest
I had some fantastic news to start off the month!

I got a phone call saying I'd been chosen for the Elite Model Look 2002 modelling competition in Tunisia.

It's one of the biggest modelling contests for young models in the world. Basically, about 60 or 70 girls from around the world are chosen to go to Tunisia, and a few go into the final.

It's quite an important competition. Gisele Bundchen and Cindy Crawford have won it in the past. When I heard I'd been picked by my agency, Premier, I just said: 'Oh My God!"

I'm really looking forward to it. There'll be girls there from all over the world. It should be really interesting.

I then went to Monaco in France for a family holiday.

It was really good fun. I just went to the beach and sunbathed a lot. It was really sunny. We went to restaurants and did lots of shopping. The clothes were brilliant - really nice French clothes - and they weren't that expensive. It was just a nice relaxing holiday really.

12 August

Jamie was chuffed with her GCSE results
When I came back I went straight back to work! I had a job the very next day. It was a job for a knitwear magazine which is sold in John Lewis and Liberty's.

The clothes were lovely, there was some really nice knitwear and gorgeous jumpers.

I was there all day and it was really good fun.

15 August

After that job, I started going to lots of castings again for different magazines and things.

They were just the normal castings where you go along, and they look at your portfolio and ask you a few questions. They just want to see if you're the sort of person they're looking for. Then you hear back later if they've picked you.

22 August

I got my GCSE results! I was really nervous but I was so pleased with my results. I got an A in art and religious studies. I couldn't believe it! Art is my favourite subject, I love it so much. I was so excited. I'm going on to do it at A-level so I really wanted a good grade.

The rest of my results were Bs and Cs.

All of my mates did really well. We went out celebrating and had a great night.

Come back next month to find out what Jamie's been up to
