  My Diary: Model
Updated 07 August 2002, 11.59
Teen model Jamie
Hello everyone! My name's Jamie, I'm 16 and I'm a model.

I work for Premier Models in London, who have people like Claudia Schiffer and Jenny from Model Behaviour on their books.

But I'm still doing my A-levels, although I've got to do them at night school so I can carry on doing modelling in the day.

This is my diary.

1-12 July

Jamie is signed to Premier Models
I finally finished my GCSEs so I celebrated with my friends at a restaurant. I'm a bit worried about the results. I don't think I've passed German.

Then I started work at Premier straight away. I didn't have a break at all. I just wanted to get started. I love modelling so much. I really enjoy going to castings. I had castings for places like More magazine, New Woman and Elle.

I love going around London to different castings. I feel quite grown-up. I never thought I'd have a proper job at 16. I thought I'd be at least 20 or something. It sometimes feels a bit odd. I'm lucky I'm doing something I love.

I also did a few castings for pop videos. I get so nervous when I do things like that because you have to dance, and I don't think I'm that brilliant at dancing. But I really enjoy doing them and it's a great experience.

13-21 July

I went to Marbella in Spain on holiday with some friends and family. We went swimming, went out and about, went shopping and topped up our tans. I also tried some water sports like jet skiing and water skiing, which was fun.

22 July

Jamie goes to model castings almost every day
When I came back I went straight back to work as usual. I have three or four castings most days, and do a bit of shopping.

I had a funny casting for Wrangler. I had to be a cowgirl and pretend to throw a rope around a man who was pretending to be a bull. It was all imaginary and I had to do it in slow motion! Usually I get quite nervous doing things like that but it was really good fun.

27 July

Then I went to the country for a few days with my Dad for some rest. It was nice to get away from it all.

Jamie

Come back next month to find out what Jamie's been up to, including castings for some top magazines and finding out about a worldwide modelling competition.
