Girls can tackle 'boy' sports too
Updated 30 April 2002, 09.10
Rugby ball and goal
Laura thinks that anyone should be able to play any sport they choose.

"I think that it's quite sexist at our school in Hockley because the girls aren't allowed to do rugby in physical education and the boys can.

I think girls and boys should be both equal as they both have the ability to play rugby, cricket or any other sports if they try.

And boys should be able to do dance, netball and rounders.

We have already sorted out girls' football now for PE and the girls enjoy it.

So why can't we play rugby or cricket too?"

Laura, 11, Hockley
