'I've read Potter books nine times!'
Updated 12 January 2002, 12.00
Children reading Harry Potter books
Ella, 10, from Yorkshire, reports on the marathon 50-hour Harry Potter reading session, in Otley, Yorkshire.

Ella was one of lots of children helping to raise thousands of pounds for Breast Cancer Research.

"I got into Harry Potter when I was seven years old. My brother was reading the books and he looked like he was really enjoying them so I decided I'd read them too.

I took part in the marathon readathon with nine other pupils from my school.

Names pulled out of a hat

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Ella's favourite Potter book
We put our hands up in class if we were interested, then they pulled names out of a hat and I was lucky enough to be chosen.

I read for about 10 minutes, from the Wizard Duel chapter from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

That's not my favourite chapter, but the Goblet of Fire is my favourite book so far.

'I've read the books nine times!'

I've read the four Potter books in the series nine times each and I'm really looking forward to the fifth book coming out.

I don't think it will be as long as the Goblet of Fire, but I think it will still be quite good.

I really enjoyed doing this marathon reading session - if they repeat it I'd definitely want to take part again."
