  Britney? We're over her!
Updated 02 January 2002, 10.37
Lu says Britney's old news
So, what are the trends, styles, latest fashions, and the hottest of the hottest in the US?

Read Lu from America's report to find out!

"Us Americans are, as many of you all are, addicted to Harry Potter. We can't get enough of the British cutie, Daniel Radcliffe, or his sidekicks, Emma and Rupert.

Harry Potter merchandise such as t-shirts, bookbags, board games, stuffed animals, and even taped glasses have increased rapidly in sale.

Glasses are now considered "cool", thanks to Harry Potter!

Rock's in - pop's out!

We love bands like Blink 182, POD, and Alien Ant Farm. Rock is IN.

Britney Spears? We're over her. Half of the population despise her. Some new singers include Shakira, Alicia Keys, Michelle Branch, and Ja Rule.

Baggy jeans and basketball

Guys here like to pull their pants (trousers) so low, practically 3/4 of their boxers are displayed. Some don't even wear belts.

Teen boys like the baggy, drooped, leave-me-alone style while teen girls like the preppy, tight, and I-just-woke-up-looking-this-good look.

Studded gems, bracelets, and t-shirts that say things such as "Angel", "Devil", and "Leave me alone" are loved.

Sports such as American football, soccer (football), basketball (especially since Michael Jordan is back), and skateboarding are also loved!"
