  Too cool in school
Updated 09 December 2001, 13.26
Children in school uniform
Elly reports on the uniform rules at her school.

"I just got a new headmaster at my school and he is so strict about uniform.

We have to wear black sweatshirts, white shirts, tie, black trousers, black shoes, the usual.

Too cold

The thing is you are not allowed to wear coats around the school. He tried to stop us wearing coats in our uniform at all, and we all rebelled by saying it's too cold in the winter not to.

So he so very kindly agreed to let us wear coats to school, but not while walking to lessons, or at break times.

This is so unfair seeing as it is so cold where I live.

A more comfortable uniform

Not only that in the summer we have to wear jumpers even when we get too hot. This is a lose-lose situation for me.

I think my headmaster should listen to us and let us have a more comfortable uniform.

We have a school council but whenever we bring it up they dismiss it without even any consideration."
