  'I'm a Harry Potter extra'
Updated 28 November 2001, 09.22

Lily, 12, became a budding actor when she appeared as an extra in the Harry Potter movie.

Here's her report:

'Here I am, standing in my costume grinning at myself and trying not to.

I'm going to be in the Harry Potter film!

The next thing I know I am on set, the set of the dining hall.

"Lily! Lily!" someone shouted.

I turned around and it was my friend Ella - granddaughter of the actor who plays Professor Dumbledore.

"I cannot believe this, that me and you are here!" screamed Ella.

Half an hour passed by and we were still shooting the same scene.

Still have to do homework

Then a loud speaker came on and announced that we have to go to school - not my school but a type of school where we can do our homework.

The set was amazing! It's more than amazing, it was a fantastic experience.

Hard work

All the cast were nice. Harry was great. Even Ron was nice and Hermione was pretty. Even though it was hard work, they got on with it.

Six films to come

If you want to become an extra, send in pictures of yourself to casting agents and explain why you want to be an extra on this particular film.

If it doesn't work, keep trying, after all there are six films to come!

I really hope I can do it again, you never know, you could soon be talking to the cast and having a brilliant time!
