It only lasted about 10 to 15 seconds but it still frightened many people.
Aftershock
Its epicentre was Long Clawson (six miles from my home town) and ripples were felt as far as Doncaster!
Experts are still trying to figure out what caused the earthquake.
There is said to be an aftershock coming in the next few days which is normal. But it won't be as bad as the actual earthquake.
Earthquakes are rare
Thousands are thought to have been frightened by the experience, especially young children and elderly people.
The places that were affected are probably glad earthquakes are quite rare in United Kingdom.
But earthquakes don't only happen in foreign countries - small ones could happen in your home town or village one day!"
