Scientists have identified a gene that may cause hair to have a mind of its own.
This means that people who are born with bad hair - like cowlicks, sticking up or frizz, can blame their parents for it!
So do YOU suffer with a particularly annoying problem with your hair?
Are you prone to the occasional bad hair day - or is it more a bad hair life?!
Perhaps you thank your lucky stars for hair products every morning...

I got my hair layered last year and I hated it so much that I cried! But now it's long enough to tie back and do stuff with, so it doesn't bother me too much, even though it can go pretty frizzy! Anna, 15, Edinburgh

My dad has afro hair and my mum has straight fine hair, I'm a mixture of the two. I've got curly hair with a fineness and smoothness to it. Also, it gets frizzy easily, and the weird thing is, my hair is poker straight underneath! I can't do much with it though, it just frizzes out. I don't have to do much with my hair as it seems fine when I wake up first thing in the morning, it never really sticks up or anything which I'm happy about but I do have VERY thick hair - but straight hair, which is hard for the hairdressers 'cos they have to cut lots of hair!! Katie, 14, Dorset

I've got totally thin hair so when it's wet and I don't brush it goes totally frizzy. I've managed to get it under control and lately it's been thickening up but it still goes a bit weird.
