A government minister has said that wearing a uniform to school makes you behave better.
They reckon that schools that make pupils wear uniforms have better results too.
Do you think that you behave better in their uniform?
Or do you reckon it makes no difference what you wear to school?
Or maybe you don't wear a uniform?
I like uniforms because they are orderly. I used to wear a uniform and it makes people concentrate on the better things instead of what we wear. I have a friend that wakes up two hours early to get ready for school and she spends most of that time deciding on what to wear. With uniforms, there is no choice, so it saves a lot of time. Sean, 13, Edinburgh
In the Netherlands we don't wear uniforms at school. We just go to school in our own jeans, shirts etc. But I wouldn't mind if I had to wear a uniform! Nick, 15, The Netherlands
I think uniform SUCKS! I have to wear it in my school and no-one looks good in it. It definitely doesn't make us work better, in fact it makes us want to rebel. Anyway, wearing your own clothes is creative and knowing that YOU chose what you wore this morning to go to school makes you work better.

I dont like wearing a uniform but i think that it does make me behave better at school. look smart to think smart!
 Becky, 15, Birmingham
I think that uniforms makes me and my friends look like a bunch of twins. It doesn't make us behave any better. We just criticize the uniforms. Instead of talking about normal things a usual conversation is about how bad the uniform is.

Sometimes you get bullied because of your uniform, coz people think you're posh or something, but if you didn't have to wear uniform, you may still get bullied if you don't wear the clothes that are "in."
 Katherine, 12, Cirencester
School uniforms are ok but people should be able to pick their own clothes.
 Liu, 10, Swindon
It depends on the actual uniform.People with shirts and ties look smarter but if you just have polo shirts you dont look that smart. But either way it does not make you behave better.

I have just finished school where I had to wear a uniform. I'm now at college and I think that it's much more relaxed not wearing uniforms. Tim, 14, Portsmouth
Sometimes, cos you can look at someone and recognise where they're from, and you're not bullied with uniform. Sophie, 11, Gosport
My last school had a uniform and my present doesn't. Most of the people from my last school go to the school I go to now, and the people who misbehaved before still misbehave now, and those who didn't, still don't. Natalie, 15, Leicester
I suppose so because there might be less bullying and nastiness. Jenny, 14, Bristol
I don't have a uniform because my school believes that you should express yourself and be able to wear what you want. No one cares what you wear to skool and there's no bullying about it at all. We're one of the best public schools in London so school uniform can't be that great!!
Jenna, 14, London
Uniform is a good idea in that it means kids can't be bullied for what they wear but why dies it have to be so horrible?! Why can't it be smart jeans, a t-shirt and so on...I hate wearing mine!
 Emily, 15, London
I think that a uniform is a good thing to have as people can see which school you go to so you are less likely to behave better. I also think it is a good thing for people who don't have the money to keep up with the latest trends as they don't feel so different. Charlotte, 14, Dawlish
School uniform makes a big differance. For example, if the school has a lot of people from different backgrounds there will be less bullying for how you dress. Sara, 13, Bedford
I don't think there's any difference in what you wear to school. people don't change cause of what they wear. Lucianna, 13, Luton
I don't think it makes any difference if people wear a uniform, they would still behave badly. Catherine, 15, Glasgow
We don't have uniforms and we are one of the top public schools in Scotland, so I don't agree with this.
 Anna, 14, Edinburgh
People can work out which school you go to so I think I'd be less likely to be bad. Callum, 12, Ipplepen
