Texting's too expensive and kids are being ripped off, according to consumer groups.
Loads of you have mobiles bills of over £100 a month.
Are texts too much for your pocket money? Does your company charge a fortune for calls?
10p is a complete rip-off for one text, considering it only costs the phone company less than a penny to send them. They would still make a fortune even if they charged 2p or 3p per text.
Imogen, 14, Birmingham
I really think texts should be cheaper, I pay 10p for texting, the price should be lowered to at least 2 or 3p.
Avalon, 12, Bradford
I always text my mates, and I think txts are too high. Even though mine is 10p but I do txt a lot. They should have it about 5p or something. Then we can save money.
Christina, 13, London
I love to text and I also spend loads of money on my phone!! I think it would be ok if the texts were about 5p-10p then most people would be happy!!! Becca, 14, Llanelli
I text my friends loads because that's the only way to keep up with them all, which means I use up my money far too quickly when they cost 12p. 2 or 3p is all it should cost. Mobile companies are loaded enough as it is, not everyone has that kind of money. Laura, 14, Scotland
I think that mobile phone text charges are dear because charge their texts 12p and others 3p; so I think that some one should talk to them about it cause they are putting their prices up to 12p. Tash, 14, Eastbourne
Mine costs 12p per text and I phoned my friend for about 6 minutes and it used up all of my £4ish credit! They give people certain numbers of free texts but it doesn't mean anything once you use them up coz it still costs loads to carry on the conversation. Why don't they just lower the costs altogether and not bother so much with free texts? It'd work out the same in the end. Marge, 14, York
When I send a text message to my parents my phone is charging more than what it should. It sends the message but keeps on and on sending the same message and I'm fed up. I also phone them and it charged me £3.00 odd just for about 3-4 minutes! Chelsea, 10, Wolverhampton
I'm not getting ripped off because I get 5 free text messages a day. Stef, 15, Harlow
I think it would be good if the network sent you a txt every 10 txts you sent, so you can keep track of how many you send, cos on contract there is no way of telling. Ceri, 15, Monmouth
I don't think I am being ripped off. I just think that maybe they could maybe a bit cheaper. Rosie, 14
Why are people so obsessed with texting? Just CALL someone on your phone or send an email or instant message off the computer. Holly, 13, USA
I think texting is a really good idea but as you say, the costs are too high!!! Some phone companies only charge 3-5p a text but only if you send it to the same network. It would be cheaper if you wrote a letter but it won't get there straight away. You could also use E-mail or Messenger! Sam, 11, Ripon, North Yorkshire
Every day I can send three txts, all costing 12p, the for the rest of the day they cost 9p! I like that method!
 Kate, 12, Aylesbury
Yeah I think they charge too much. Now that you can text television shows and vote for stuff like Pop Idol and Fame Academy through your mobile more kids are using it! They should only charge about 5p for a text not 35p!!! Sara, 14, Bedfordshire
I've given up texting, I spend more time talking on messenger to my friends on the internet, much cheaper! Laura, 15, North Yorkshire
My company is really stingy, coz from the beginning of next month they are putting the cost of texts up to 12p each! And also, when you phone someone and cut off without them answering, it costs you 5p! Rudeness! I reckon everyone (even if they are on pay as you go) should get free texts (about 30) a month coz the companies have loads of money anyway! Princess, 13, Surrey
Mobiles are like every thing else, the prices will keep on rising because the companies know we'll pay for it! Toni, 15, Kent
All of my family used to get texts from our mobiles for 5p on the tariff we had and we used to text loads; then a couple of months ago, they put it up to a 140% rise so we don't text as much now. I think it's wrong that mobile companies can put prices up so much. A shop wouldn't be allowed to increase their prices by 140%. Jamie, 13, Brighton
Kids are being ripped of with calling and sending texts to other people; I think it is disgusting. I got my mobile took of me for sending too many texts. Amy, 10, Gateshead
I get 300 free texts a month and all I do is put £10 in when ever I want to get them Emma, 14, West Lothian
When I first got my mobile I got 5 free texts a day, then 3, then none, then my texts started costing 12p! It's a total rip off and my mates get annoyed coz I don't text them as much any more! Freya, 12, Bristol
I think that children should pay less as they use it more; the company will still get profit. Alicia, 13, Chelmsford
I find it easiest to communicate with people by text, but I can't do it that often, coz texting is so expensive. Also I think that the actual phones are way too expensive - if you want a decent phone, you're paying at least a hundred pounds!!
 Anna, 14, Edinburgh
I think some text rates are a complete rip off, some only cost 3p though. Mine cost 20p a text and I love texting! I spend so much on my phone and it's ridiculous! Jodie, 13, St. Just, Cornwall
I don't txt much, but that's cos they're so expensive! Jude, 13, Manchester
