Nude teachers: harmless fun or bad taste?
Updated 18 June 2003, 19.15

A group of teachers at a Buckinghamshire school have stripped off for a charity calendar.

They aren't bearing all (everything's cleverly hidden) and it has all been done to raise money for a school in South Africa.

Is it all just a bit of fun?

Or are you uncomfortable at the idea of teachers stripping off?

After all, they're in charge of you and need your respect in a class of 30 kids.

opening quoteI think it's weird and I'd be embarrassed if that was my teacher.closing quote
Bethany, 11, Colchester

opening quoteIts a good thing that they done it for charity and funny but I still don't think that it's right to strip as a teacher. MINGIN! closing quote
Claire, 12, Edinburgh

opening quoteIt's so crazy that teachers strip off for charity. It's for a good cause but YUK!!!!!!!!!closing quote
Stephen, 10, Sale

opening quoteYuck! Charity is a great thing but the way they're doing it is WRONG!! How can kids respect their teachers knowing they strip for a calendar! GET REAL!!!!!closing quote
Derek, 12, Spring Hill

opening quoteI think that's crazy, if they want to do it for charity or whatever, they shouldn't be associating this calendar with school, they should not name themselves as teachers. It's dirty money.closing quote
Beth, 14, Niagra Falls, Canada

opening quoteYou lot are right idiots, it is only a laugh.closing quote
Matt, 15, Bourne End

opening quoteI think if my teachers did that it would be all too strange and very disturbing! But it is for a good cause...closing quote
Lara, 11, Buckingham

opening quoteI think if my teachers did that it would be all too strange and very disturbing! But it is for a good cause...closing quote
Lara, 11, Buckingham

opening quoteI think that the calander is great idea to raise the much needed money, but personally I think that the teachers will never live it down!!!closing quote
Honey, 15, Manchester

opening quoteAre you people all nuts!!?? Teachers are completely sick-minded if they want to strip off and expect to be looked at normally for the rest of the year - even if it IS for a good cause! I'm sorry, but that's just revolting and I would retire if I did it!closing quote
Hannah, 11, Fairford

opening quoteWe would be taken out of school!! Also pupils would never be able to learn as you have seen them naked before and that is very off putting!! Ewwwwww!closing quote
Katie and Nikki, 13, Newmarket

opening quoteWhat is everyone's problem? These people are doing a good thing for a good cause, it is almost certainly more than any of us have ever done for a charity. Everyone is saying that they should have done something better to raise the money, may I ask what?closing quote
Evan, Manchester

opening quoteIt's the teachers choice so if they want to pose half naked for a photo then it's their choice! It's only fun!!!closing quote
Charlotte, 12, Taunton

opening quoteAlthough its a good thing raising money for a school but couldn't they have raised money in other ways it's disgusting.closing quote
Lauren, 15, Manchester

opening quoteI think it's revolting. As if we want to see teachers half-naked. I don't understand why they couldn't get their message across in a different form other than stripping.closing quote
Sophia, 13, Essex

opening quoteI think that it is sick that teachers strip. Fair enough, it's for charity but they are supposed to be people with authority and good standards.closing quote
Hayley, 15, London

opening quoteI think it's kinda sick! I wouldn't be able to concentrate in class imagining my teacher in nude!!closing quote
Hanisha, 12, London

opening quoteI think it is appalling, because it is embarrassing for the children in the school. The teachers should be more thoughtful for the children than being naked on a calendar.closing quote
Rebecca, 9, Postmouth

opening quoteI think it's a bad idea. If they want to raise money they should raise it in a better way.closing quote
Joe, 12, Shetland

opening quoteI think that the calendar is a brill idea!! The calendar is for our link school in Africa and it's a great and fun way to raise money. I don't think any of the pupils in Borlase will disrespect the teachers. But some may be a bit embarrassed. I personally think it's great and I will still fully respect my teachers....and anyway it's all for a good cause!!closing quote
Claudia, 12

opening quoteI go to Borlase school (pronounced B,O-R-L,A,S,E!) It's a brill idea and every one laughs WITH the teachers and is a great, fun, way of raising money!! closing quote
Jonny, 14

opening quoteI have something to say.

Gross, gross, gross.closing quote

Shannon, 13, Birmingham

opening quoteIt sounds strange and I think if my teacher did it, it would be really embarrassing and I think I would go off him.closing quote
Emma, 11, Doncaster

opening quoteEWWW!! That's disgusting! I hope all the teachers that agreed to that are fired! Teachers are bad enough as they are without seeing them naked.closing quote
Michael, 11, Forest Hill, London

opening quoteIt's just sick to see someone who teaches you stuff strip...that would scar me for life, just thinking of my teachers doing that but for charity I dunno has pros and cons.closing quote
Cait, 14, USA

opening quoteThat's enough to put you off your dinner! ARGH it makes me shudder! Would you ever be able to look at them the same way again? I guess it's alright though, seeing as it's raising money for children in the developing world.closing quote
Sarah, 16, Grimsby

opening quoteUrgh! The thought of the teachers at my school stripping off is horrible! But, it's nice to know money from the calendar is all for charity!closing quote
Emma, 13, Lincoln

opening quoteI think it is disgusting. I have a crush on some teachers but there is no way I would want to see them naked as I would feel all weird around them and go read in the face.closing quote
Sophie, 15, Newcastle

opening quoteIt's just a bit of fun and it is going to a good cause. There's not much harm in that and they aren't making a habit of it!!closing quote
Joe, 15, Harrogate

opening quoteIt is not what I call right.closing quote
Cheryl, 12, Essex

opening quoteThis idea has been done before! And I think that if teachers want respect, they should try keeping their clothes on!closing quote
Serena, 15, Salisbury

opening quoteWell, the cause is good, but I don't want to see any more of teachers than what we already see... Also, if you had a calendar on your wall covered with your teachers, wouldn't it keep school on your mind, even when it was the school hols! Still, it'll remind the kids to do their homework...closing quote
Lauren, 12, Northampton

opening quoteEven if it is just for fun, talk about gross!closing quote
Kate, 12, Aylesbury

opening quoteI think if it raises money it's a good thing! And besides, if you don't like it, don't buy the calendar!closing quote
Ariella, 13, Aberdeen

opening quoteI think it's too strange, and a lot of people would be really immature about it. I can't imagine it would be healthy for anyone!closing quote
Zoe, 13, Plymouth

opening quoteIf you had a crush on your teacher and then got the calendar, it might make your crush worse?closing quote
Kim, 13, Barnsley
