Experts are saying that you may only have to the dentists go once a year, instead of every six months.
But do you have any funny or frightening experiences from the dentist?
Has anything weird or wonderful happened while the dentist was looking around in your mouth?

 Everytime I go to the dentist, I tell him not to pull any teeth. But he still does, and everytime he doesn't tell me when he's going pull it, so I feel pain. Oh and by the way, he NEVER gives out pain medicine! Brigid, 14, Chicago, USA
My friend's little sister was terrified when she had to go and get a tooth taken out and people had to hold her to chair while the dentist gave her the injecton in the neck cos she woudn't open her mouth!

Once my little brother came with me and the dentist had stuffed some pink clay into my mouth and my brother had got so amused by this that he actually grabbed the clay out of my mouth and put it into his! Gross!

I like going to the dentist. It's an excuse to get out of school for about an hour. Everyone who is complaining about them not caring if you cry in the dentist's chair, maybe if you kept better care of your teeth they wouldn't have to do such drastic things to make you cry!

Once when I was at the dentist my sister didn't want to wait outside on her own so she came into the room with me. As I was having my tooth pulled out my sister went a funny shade of green and passed out!

Once when my dentist was looking inside of my mouth he told me to2 close it and his finger was still inside, I knew it was but I still did it, I still went to bite him on the finger since he was a bit mean that day.

When my sister was about five, she hated the dentist. Every time we went for a checkup, she would start screaming and shouting, because she didn't want to go in. She had to be held down to be checked!

It's not weird or embarrassing but I have a BIG phobia of needles so you can imagine how I felt when my orthodontist said I'd be having four teeth out over the summer. I had out the two teeth either side of my front top middle teeth and those injections are probably the worst pain in my life!!

I had three teeth removed so my mouth was bleeding. It tasted so horrible I spat it out, just as the dentist was leaning over to check all the teeth were out properly. The poor dentist was covered in blood!

A few weeks ago my sister had to have a tooth out, the dentist put his hand in her mouth and gave her an injection, she sank her teeth into the dentist's finger and wouldn't let go!! He was nearly crying with pain, whilst I was crying with laughter!
