Modern art - some people say it's fab others say it's a load of old rubbish.
Hitting the headlines again is the Turner Prize with it's controversial pieces of new art up for a £20,000 prize.
Some people say these can't be called art because they're not paintings.
Others say the point of art is for you to enjoy it, have fun and maybe see the world around you differently.
But what do you think?
I think most of it looks interesting and surreal, it makes a change from boring, dull paintings.
 Emma, 15, Plymouth
I have never actually been to a place that contains modern art but if I was invited (even if Robbie Williams invited me) I wouldn't go!
 Alison, 11, Alloa
I think it's just pointless, what's the point in going to see things that you could have made yourself ?! People are going to think that art's a joke!
 Jade, 13, Newcastle
No, I think that modern art is just as popular as any other art work.
 Jodie, 9, Bishopbriggs
I think modern art is brilliant, it's much more interesting than looking at a picture!
 Eli, 10, Maidenhead
I think it is very interesting to see how other people used their imagination to make things.
 Esther, 12, Folsom
Real art is actually painting but art is also being creative and enjoying it. I wouldn't personally go to see modern art but if other people enjoy it then let them because we all have different opinions.
 Emily, 11, Middlesbrough
A picture of an old shoe could be modern art, it's so rubbish.
 Alastair, 14, Liverpool
I do not think it is art but sometimes it can be good.
 Charlotte, 11, Worthing
I don't understand why people want to spend so much money on a painting that looks like a 3-year-old kid has made!
 Rebekka, 12, London
I think that some modern art is OK but some is just plain rubbish! The finalists for the Turner Prize don't deserve to win. What's the point?
 Claire, 15, Southend
I think that it is really good and I don't see why people say it's rubbish. Some people just don't understand it.
 Katie, 12, Northamptonshire
I have never really appreciated modern art. It would be a lot more interesting if I could understand what the artist meant it to be.
 Bethany, 10, Nottingham
Art is not what it used to be, where skill was involved. Now, in my view art can be depicted as anything and it just doesn't go.
 Craig, 14, Orpington
I don't understand lots of it but I still think it's fun to go and see it.
 Hannah, 11, Milton Keynes
