  Hiding hamster is saved from car

 Bob the hamster is now safe
An adventurous hamster was saved from a car after escaping from his box and hiding behind a car dashboard.

The furry friend had been bought for 14-year-old Laura Barton after she had to spend two days in hospital.

Laura and her mum and dad were taking the hamster home in the car when he got out of his box and disappeared.

He found somewhere to hide and every time Laura or her parents tried to get him he moved out of reach, so they called the AA to help them.

That brought Bob the AA man to them, and he rescued the hamster by unscrewing the dashboard, allowing Laura's dad to catch him as he tried to run past.

Bob said: "It took about 20 minutes to get him out. He didn't seem to suffer any ill effects from his experience. It's the shortest and the smallest job I've done."

Thankfully the hamster is safe and sound now living with Laura and her family and has got a name too - Bob.
