Great White tops most hunted list

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has named the animals most endangered because they are hunted for their body parts.

Creatures like the great white shark and the Humphead wrass fish could be wiped out if rules aren't brought in to protect them, say the charity.

The wrass is prized for its big lips, a delicacy in Asia, and great whites are hunted for their teeth and fins.

A big conference in October will decide which creatures will be protected from being hunted and sold around the world.

Other species include Irrawaddy dolphins, Asian elephants, pig-nosed turtles, yellow-crested cockatoos and leaf-tailed geckos.

At the moment, these creatures are only banned from being hunted or eaten in certain countries, but can still be sold on the global market if they have the right paperwork.
