A dog going walkies is not that unusual - unless of course it gets on a train by itself and travels 60 miles.
Bud, a Staffordshire bull terrier from Darlington, managed to jump over a 7ft garden fence before wandering down to the train station.
He then boarded a train to London and would have made it had he not decided to take a break and get off at York.
It was there the pooch was spotted by staff and contacted Bud's owners.
Wind up
Martin Carrick couldn't believe it when the police rang him to say they'd found Bud.
He said: "I thought someone was winding me up. I know he's gone wandering before but only around Darlington."
Mr Carrick thinks he'll probably have to put up a bigger fence to stop Bud from going off on any future adventures.
