Army search dog Buster is being presented with the prestigious Dickin Medal by animal charity the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA).
He will become only the 24th dog to receive the award in its 60-year history. It was set up to reward animals who helped during World War II.
Buster found a stash of guns, grenades and ammunition in Safwan in March.
The stash was stuffed in a hole in a wall which had been covered with metal and hidden behind a wardrobe.
But that failed to foil Buster's excellent sniffing skills.
He's getting his award from Princess Alexandra at the Imperial War Museum.
He will be joined by his handler Sergeant Danny Morgan, who describes Buster as his "best friend".
