Lost bear bounces back into the wild
Updated 11 September 2003, 12.44

A black bear's free in the wild after bouncing to safety on a trampoline!

The trampoline was used to break the bear's fall after it was tranquilized up a tree.

He's thought to have got lost and ended up in a residential area called Missoula in America.

Black bear
So officials followed him and spotted him climbing a tall tree.

They thought shooting him with a drugged dart was the best plan, as he'd just fall asleep.

But he needed a soft landing so a trampoline was put under the tree.

The bear fell, bounced up and was put in a cage to recover.

He's now happily back in the wild and is none the worse for his ordeal!
