Nine different people claim to have spotted the beast going after ducklings in Cannock in Staffordshire.
One man, who was out with his two kids, said: "We were looking at two swans and their baby cygnets.
"There was a commotion in the water. As the creature went past I saw it had a flat head, a five-foot long body and two-foot tail."
Croc-hunt
Police and RSPCA inspectors went on a croc-hunt in the area but said they couldn't find anything.
They said it was likely the people had spotted a very large fish, like a carp, but mistaken it for a crocodile.
But the locals aren't convinced.
Some of them think the beast must have escaped from a zoo or someone with a private collection of rare animals.
Let's hope they're wrong!
