Charlie the tiger made headlines when he was pictured with owner Zaitun Arshad in a jeep in northern Malaysia.
But Mr Zaitun faced jail because Malaysian authorities said he didn't have a permit for Charlie.
So Mr Zaitun tried to set Charlie free in front of reporters.
Twig snacks
Mr Zaitun is hoping to get a licence so he can bring Charlie home.
The pair used to walk together daily so Charlie, who eats six chickens and six kilos of beef a day, could snack on twigs and leaves.
Tigers are a national symbol in Malaysia and heavily protected.
