  Bottlenose dolphins face extinction
Updated 16 July 2002, 17.04

A rare dolphin which swims in British waters could become extinct within 10 years because they're getting caught in fishing nets.

A report by the Wildlife Trust called "Our Dying Seas?" found that a record 500 dolphins were found stranded on UK shores in the last year, most of which had been drowned or caught in nets.

Could the Great British supper become a thing of the past?
Only 350 dolphins are now left in the waters of Cornwall, two thirds of the population have already disappeared.

And the mighty British supper of cod and chips could disappear too.

Cod fishing is so intense now that the North Sea has nearly made the fish extinct from it's waters.

Marine experts now want the government to make new laws which would protect life in the seas.
