She gave Beau a home, good feed and lots of love to nurse her back to full-pup health.
'Ruff' competition
Catherine told the Times newspaper: "I was really surprised what breed she was. Australian shepherds are quite rare and for one to be left abandoned is extremely unusual".
Beau qualified for Crufts, the top dog show, when she picked up third place in the Best Puppy class at a show in Birmingham and second in two classes at the Southern Counties show.
And she'll be making her doggy debut at Crufts in the Post-Graduate Bitch category, on the opening day of the competition.
But she'll face some 'ruff' competition at the show which starts on 7 March, at Birmingham's NEC.
