Return of 'Moosama' the lucky cow
Updated 27 February 2002, 14.47
Lucky cow!
A lucky cow who escaped from a slaughterhouse in Ohio, US has been recaptured and is now a national hero.

The Charolais cow, nicknamed "Moosama bin Laden", jumped over a fence 12 days ago and had been on the hoof ever since.

Moosama was due to be killed for meat but decided she was far better off chewing the cud in nearby woods.

Cincinnati TV stations even set up an aerial "Cow Cam" to try and spot the brave bovine.

But when anyone tried to approach her, she turned into a very mad cow.

She couldn't be free-range forever though.

A Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) worker eventually managed to tranquillise her and load her onto a trailer.

Moosama won't be going back to the slaughterhouse. She's to be given the freedom of the city, has been offered a part in TV ads and is waiting to be adopted.

What a moo-ving end for the lucky cow!
