He started off by just learning words, like "milk" or "cookie", but now he asks for what he wants using other words too.
'Learns like a child'
Griffin can also line-up bottle tops in size order - something scientists used to think was too hard for our feathered friends.
It's already known that chimps and baboons can learn this kind of behaviour, but Griffin has made scientists think they should add parrots to the list too.
Dr Irene Pepperberg, who works with Griffin in America, said he was learning skills just like a child would and that the findings were "very exciting".
