  Pop diet fattens turkeys

Pop fattens up turkeys
A farmer has found an unusual solution to the problem of how to fatten up his Christmas turkeys:

He's playing them pop music!

Dave Cartwright runs a turkey farm in Shropshire but the 500 birds were in a flap because of the noise of clanking machinery and refused to eat.

Gobbling to Kylie

One of the farm hands suggested putting a radio in with the flock to mask the noise and it seems to have smoothed their ruffled feathers.

Mr Cartwright told the Sun newspaper: "They're plumping up nicely."

And he says he's not sure what their favourite song is "but they seem to gobble a lot when Kylie Minogue comes on."

Sadly, the birds will never see the Christmas number one.
