Dog adopts piglets after losing puppies
Updated 24 November 2001, 16.37

A female dog has adopted four piglets after the puppies she gave birth to died.

Linda has been nursing the piglets at her home in Fonfria de Alba, north-western Spain.

Unusual children!

She had only recently given birth to the puppies but sadly they didn't survive.

So she seems to have done the next best thing and adopted four tiny pink piglets instead!

It's unusual for one species of animal to adopt a completely different one but it does happen.
