Children say thanks for their pets
Updated 07 October 2001, 16.13

How much do you love your pet?

A group of children and adults gathered in London for a special event to show just how much their animals mean to them.

Jason Colbart, 13, from London, brought his pet hamster, Dusty.

He said: "I haven't got a brother and I love playing with Dusty. I would be lost without him. He's getting old and has had lots of accidents."

Other people brought their cats and dogs to the event, including a Scottish Terrier and a long-haired spaniel.

The occasion was marked with a service at St Paul's Church in Covent Garden, where everyone gave thanks for their animals.
