Rat Olympics
A laboratory rat
"Just keep a cool head and remember to wait for the starting gun...."

It has to be the strangest Olympic event ever (after synchronised swimming).

The 27th rat Olympics has taken place at the Nebratska, sorry Nebraska Wesleyan University in the USA.

The university's psychology unit has been staging the event as a learning tool for the department's "Basic Learning Principles Course".

And for the first time ever the competition was promoted as a campus wide event.

Roland Rat
"It's a rat race, yeaaah..."
Students were able to watch rodent athletes put through their paces in events like the long jump, weight lifting and track.

Rumours of rat javelin and ice skating need to be ratified.

The lucky winners were awarded medals while the losers were just cheesed off.

However 60seconds remains convinced that the organisers could have come up with much more creative events, i.e. Spreader of Most Diseases. Send us your suggestions.
