PAPAL APARTMENTS
These private rooms on the third floor of the Apostolic Palace include a library, private chapel and bedroom. Pope John Paul II died here on 2 April 2005. He used to appear at a window overlooking the square on Sundays to give blessings. After his death the rooms were sealed, in accordance with tradition.
