The anomie index is a rough way of calculating a lack of a sense of belonging, or social fragmentation. It was calculated in each area using the following criteria.
1. Non-married adults multiplied by a weight of 0.18
2. One-person households multiplied by a weight 0.50
3. People who have moved to their current address within the last year
multiplied by 0.38
4. People renting privately multiplied by 0.80
