Student Ambrish Patel rents a room in a private hall near Aston University in Birmingham, called The Heights.

It is one of many such residences which have sprung up to meet rocketing student demand in recent years.

He has an en-suite study bedroom within a five-person flat. The entire building houses about 900 students.
