This image, showing a model of the Soviet Lunokhod-1 Moon rover, has just been released by the Science Photo Library. Lunokhod-1 was launched in 1970 on the Luna 17 mission, functioning for 10 months. Its location on the Moon did not prevent its sale in 1993 for $68,500 at a Sotheby's auction.
