VIRTIS views Venus' day side (blue) at visible wavelengths; and the night side (red) in infrared. The infrared part shows complex cloud structures. VIRTIS can see these structures by looking through "infrared windows", the few narrow wavelengths that carbon dioxide does not absorb.
