End sequence

During the recent voyage, the pteropod Clio pyramidata became one of the first creatures to have its DNA sequenced at sea. It is believed to be vulnerable to rising acidity in the oceans, a consequence of higher levels of CO2 in the atmosphere.

The Census of Marine Life is scheduled to complete operations in 2010.
