The European Court of Justice has ruled against allowing consumers to buy alcohol and tobacco online at lower duties from abroad.

The decision means shoppers buying cheaper goods from warehouses abroad will still have to take the goods back home themselves.

The court's ruling has been welcomed by many retailers.
