Local government PR consultant Lynn Travis, 60, said: "I don't think Gordon is as dour as people think he is. I was chatting to him last night and we had a good laugh. I think it will be good for the party to have somebody more left of centre as leader because it will help because it will help those who are very left feel happier about things."
