Spending on alcohol The UK remains a beer drinking country, but recent years have also seen more cider, spirits and wine sold. Alcohol accounts for about 6% of household spending, with the total amount consumed rising with income. In homes with an income over £1,000 a week 85% of men drink each week, compared to 49% in homes with £200 or less. |
