Stratford in east London will also be the home of a new international station by 2007.

The station is a key part of London's transport plans for the 2012 Olympics, with the CTRL line carrying the 'Olympic Javelin' high-speed shuttle service.

It is expected to take spectators between central London and the Olympic Park in seven minutes.
