Cap wearer Iain Mitchell described the ban as "bordering on ridiculous".

He said: "Why should I be targeted or labelled a trouble-maker just because of what I am wearing.

"Shop staff should be more vigilant to spot shoplifters, not just put a blanket policy in place that punishes innocent shoppers."
