Sony shows off its next generation Blu-ray DVD player disc.

A format battle is currently being waged between two future DVD technologies.

Blu-ray is backed by a group led by Sony, and HD DVD is supported by Toshiba and others.

Both formats promise to hold much more data for high-definition films and games.
