I am delighted Mr Rajapakse has won. He is a very good man, one who will fight for the interests of the Sinhalese Buddhists.

As a Buddhist monk, I do not think we should fight elections like some of us have done. But at the same time, the clergy has always provided its counsel to the rulers through centuries. I see no harm in that.
