Fusion on Earth In a terrestrial fusion reactor, the fuel would be deuterium and tritium – types of hydrogen atoms. These would be heated to about 100 million degrees. They would then fuse together to produce helium and high speed neutrons. A commercial fusion power station would use the heat generated by the energetic neutrons to drive turbines. |
