Fusion on Earth

In a terrestrial fusion reactor, the fuel would be deuterium and tritium types of hydrogen atoms.

These would be heated to about 100 million degrees. They would then fuse together to produce helium and high speed neutrons.

A commercial fusion power station would use the heat generated by the energetic neutrons to drive turbines.
