Lambrigg wind farm in Cumbria opened in the year 2000 as part of the county's target for developing wind energy. Five turbines, each 74 metres high to the tip of its blades, generate enough electricity annually for the nearby town of Kendal.

The turbines are low maintenance and need servicing only twice a year. They cost about 1 million each.
