The Himalayan Valley of Flowers national park in northern Uttaranchal state is famous not only for its flower meadows but also as home to rare and endangered animals such as Snow Leopard, Brown Bear and Blue Sheep.

The site is considered ideal for developing eco-tourism, bringing conservation and socio-economic benefits to the area.
