Former Sudanese rebel leader John Garang has arrived in the capital, Khartoum, for his first visit in 20 years.

He is due to be sworn in as vice-president, in a power-sharing deal to end decades of civil war between the between the Muslim north and the mainly Christian south.

The BBC's news website spoke to some of those gathered to greet him.
