Local deluges While the UK as a whole had a much wetter summer than average, some spots had truly extreme conditions. Shap Fells in Cumbria was the wettest place in the UK in August with 302mm - 258% of its normal rainfall for the month. And although Bedford received far less - 178mm - it had the greatest relative increase with 338% of its August average. |
