Women drastically underestimate what their handbag is worth and most have not insured it, a survey has found.

The average lost bag and contents would cost £577 to replace - more than the £153 women think.

Claire Heald asked for a rummage through bags in London, to see if their owners knew the real value of what they were carrying about.
