Hi-tech take-off Before the bust, the boom. For the US, the mid-1920s were a period of remarkable economic expansion. The key was new technology, and most particularly the car. Soaring automotive sales fed into growth in everything from road-building to rubber production, creating jobs and markets where none had existed before. |
